The Honorable Dan Saban, Maricopa County Sheriff – 2008 The Citizens of Maricopa County, The Law Enforcement Agencies of Arizona;

My name is Frank Rangel and I am a native of Arizona and a citizen of Maricopa County. I am a neighborhood activist in my community and speak to my neighbors regarding change that needs to take place when something is not our approval or to community standards. I am also the voice to the Hispanic citizens and neighbors in the southwest valley that I live in. When I am asked for my opinion at election time of whom or why I am voting for, I have no problem sharing my thoughts and opinions with them. I do this in a fair and impartial manner and if I have any documentation or factual evidence as to why I DO or DO NOT support a specific candidate, I share that with them also and I leave it up to them to decide who is the candidate that will be respected by his peers and have the role to be an effective and professional representative of this county. I have supported and endorsed several elected officials in this county however the time for change has come to our doorsteps of democracy again. Now it is clear to me and the majority of the citizens in my community that the reign of fear must end. The tax payers in our community can no longer stand by and watch our tax monies pay for the lawsuits filed by inmates, current or former employees of the MCSO and to the good ole boys who represent the current Sheriff; Joe Arpaio. I also must share with you all that every so often I take the time to read the United States Constitution and then I find myself in thought and ask myself why the citizens of Maricopa County continue to support a man who sole objective is to violate parts of the Constitutional Rights of another human being? My fellow Maricopa County Citizens; the time for change is now. Mr. Saban; you have my support and at my last meeting with neighbors, I am convinced that you will have their support as well. Sir, we only ask that you restore to us what the Citizens of Maricopa County have lost with our current Sheriff; INTEGRITY, PROFESSIONALISM and RESPECT.
