What's Wrong with the Sheriff's Office?

I'm an American Lawman. That means I am obligated to protect your rights, not use my authority to abuse them. The question today is “What's wrong with the sheriff's office?” There's plenty wrong. Sixteen years of failure have led to more than $43 million of tax payer dollars paid out in lawsuits because of neglect and abuse. Arpaio says that's the cost of doing business. That's no excuse! In my opinion that's bad business and it's unacceptable.

In 16 years of failure, Arpaio has used personal politics to hurt people and gimmicks to fool voters. That’s un-American. As Abraham Lincoln said, “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” Now it's time to end the charade of 16 long years.

In 16 years of failure, Arpaio’s pink underwear and tents haven’t reduced crime. They haven’t stopped criminals from repeating their offenses. It hasn’t ended gang violence or arrested violent felons. Gimmicks don't make you safe, but abuse of power creates a police state and personal politics costs you money.

My smart on crime plan will protect you and your family at great cost savings.

Let's also dispel the myth. I'm tough on enforcing illegal immigration and so are police chiefs. All police officers enforce the laws. We don’t pick and choose. In fact, my immigration enforcement plan is more effective because it works without creating concerns for civil rights, costs less and does so without making a public spectacle.

What's wrong with sheriff's office? Arpaio’s 16 years of failure. It's time for everyone to recognize that our public safety, our tax money and our American way of life are being spit upon by someone who pretends to care about the law.

It’s time to make things right.
